The sequel to Supergiant Games 2020 roguelike Hades is expected to be released in the year 2019. It's a bold move that raises the stakes and offers more insight into family politics.

Melinoe returns to kill Chronos the titan of time. On her way, she will meet new gods, like the personifications of light Apollo and witchcraft goddess Hecate as well as the god of revenge Nemesis.

1. Hades 2 Technical Test

It's worth taking part in an in-depth test if you are a fan of Supergiant and their roguelike 2020 Hades. The studio has announced that it's Early Access launch will be soon, and a playtest with a smaller audience than the full 1.0 version will help them get any bugs fixed.

In addition to the new gods, shades, and items that are found in the Underworld there are a variety of items that you can collect and upgrade via Incantations. This system of perpetual upgrades can be found throughout every game. Melinoe can also create new spells, upgrade her Nocturnal Armor and Nocturnal Armor. She can also collect items from the crossroads camp to use in future runs and unlock trinkets, weapons, boons, paths, and other tools as she travels.

The introduction of more open areas is also a great addition. These regions offer various routes through each region, and a constantly changing setting to explore. Each region is a unique version of the Underworld with some being more accessible than others, but each with unique challenges that stand out in the usual offerings of other Roguelites.

Supergiant has also redesigned gameplay in the early-access build. This cuts down on the grinding needed to reach certain upgrades, and makes it easier to move between areas. There's plenty of work to be done before the game hits its full release, but Supergiant has made it clear that it's determined to maximize player feedback and to continue to refine Hades 2 to a perfect state.

Supergiant is known for listening to its players and addressing any issues that come up, and that's evident in the way it's handled the early access version of Hades 2. Although it's a long time before the full version is released, Hades 2 already feels like an appropriate addition to your gaming collection.

3. Hades 2 Beta

Hades was a roguelike unlike the rest when it came out in 2018. The game won multiple awards and is considered one of the most enjoyable games ever created. With its rich narrative grounded in Greek mythology, stories of family struggles and LGBTQ+ representation that feels natural and inclusive, it was no surprise that it resonated with so many people. So when Supergiant Games announced that a sequel was in the in the works, it came as no surprise that fans were excited.

Seven years after its original release, Hades 2 has finally made it to early access. Although it hasn't been changed much mechanically, Supergiant's love for and dedication to Hades 2 are evident from the beginning.

According to the Steam page of Hades 2, "the game brings back all the elements that were so unique in the first game one: the isometric perspective, clearing rooms, selecting boons and launching powerful attacks, the Hub World with an actor fully voiced character to speak with and to learn from, and the ever-changing Underworld."

The technical test also adds new features to the game. For instance, the capability to unlock new permanent upgrades for Melinoe and a new weapon, and a myriad of other options that will aid you in surviving the hordes of the Underworld. You'll also be able control witchy creatures, uncover mysteries at the Arcana Altar, and gather agents that can boost your abilities.

The most striking addition is probably Omega attacks which are a fresh method of powering up your weapons and spells. By using these attacks, you can increase your magick gauge and unleash devastating strikes with a huge area of impact. This is a novel method to add more variety to the game of combat.

The beta version of Hades 2 is available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Supergiant has stated that they will keep their fans informed as they work toward the 1.0 release in 2024. You can wishlist the complete version of the game on the console or PC to be notified when it's available.

4. Hades 2 Release Date

The trailer for Hades 2 features the Underworld Princess, Melinoe, fighting the cool witch Hecate. Supergiant claims that Melinoe's style and personality will be similar to Zagreus even although the character isn't a direct reimagining.
