Work will be completed on upgrading UEL's clinical education building, with its hospital and primary care training hub, in time for the new intake of students in September 2025. New multipurpose rooms will feature mock wards, podiatry and physiotherapy spaces and private consultation rooms, and the existing operating theatre will have pre-operation, scrub-up and recovery rooms added to it. Elsewhere, an open-plan eating area known as The Green Room will be created in the Arthur Edwards building, sitting alongside a new Students' Union space. UEL's successful bid to become the new cultural operator of the Stratford Youth Zone will lead to the formation of a commercial theatre venue for students and the local community, while a wide-ranging overhaul of UEL's Stratford campus has been approved recently by Newham council. The masterplan involves creating a health campus, a student village with 650 rooms, a wellness centre, a student and staff nursery and green social spaces. Construction is expected to begin in the coming weeks. Nineteen new degrees have been approved for next September, with some of the more striking options including directing for stage and screen, international sport with enterprise, policing studies, and criminal justice and cyber security.

As well as stress-management programmes, counselling and appointments available in person, via Microsoft Teams and by telephone, the university runs lifestyle programmes at the UEL SportsDock to help prevent problems arising.
